Written for Czech homes,
not for algorithms

Minimal Living CZ is an independent editorial project focused on practical minimalism for Czech households. It exists because most English-language minimalism content assumes spaces, budgets, and consumption patterns that do not reflect life in a Czech city or town.

What this site is

A collection of practical guides on decluttering, maintaining order, and applying minimalist principles to homes in the Czech Republic. The focus is on what actually works in a 55–65 m² flat, in a panelák with limited storage, in a multi-generational household, or in a house in a smaller Czech town.

The content is written to be specific rather than general. "Declutter your wardrobe" is advice. "Remove everything, sort by category, and apply an eighteen-month usage test" is a method. The site aims for the latter.

What this site is not

It is not a lifestyle brand. It does not sell products, recommend products in exchange for payment, or participate in affiliate programmes. There are no sponsored articles. External links go to authoritative sources — government agencies, academic references, well-established consumer platforms — not to commercial partners.

It is also not a programme for radical living. Nothing here requires becoming a different kind of person or adopting an ideology. The useful parts of minimalism are behavioural and practical; they do not require a philosophy.

Sources and approach

The guides draw on published research in environmental psychology, consumer behaviour, and household organisation, as well as the documented methods associated with Marie Kondo's KonMari method and the work of The Minimalists. Where these methods are adapted for Czech conditions, that is noted.

Claims about Czech-specific data — flat sizes, waste collection infrastructure, second-hand markets — are sourced from the Czech Statistical Office (ČSÚ), municipal authorities, and relevant sector organisations.

Updates and accuracy

Each article carries a "last updated" date. We review articles when referenced external information changes — for example, if waste collection regulations or platform availability changes. The update date reflects a genuine review, not an automated timestamp.

If you notice an error or out-of-date information, the contact page has an email address. We read and respond to substantive corrections.
